HONG KONG FACTORY is the product a collaborative grant that I received with an FIT Fashion colleague.
Traveling with her students to the garment factories in Hong Kong and China kept the students on the move rapidly through the factories, the machines humming loudly and the explanations hard to hear. I went along, drawing as we walked. The drawings (selected) were used to prepare the fashion students for what they would be seeing
For my illustration students, these drawings exemplified how drawing and understanding the figure can lead to the most extraordinary of assignments.
